Meet Dr. Vinod Rustgi

Dr. Vinod Rustgi is a nationally recognized hepatologist and gastroenterologist with decades of experience at the forefront of liver health and transplant medicine.

He currently serves as Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Prior to this role, he served as Medical Director of Liver Transplantation and Clinical Director of Hepatology at UPMC — two of the nation's leading academic medical centers.

Training & Education

Dr. Rustgi earned his MD and MBA from Johns Hopkins University and completed advanced training at Baylor College of Medicine, Georgetown University, Stanford University, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Research & Leadership

He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on liver disease and transplant medicine, and has held leadership positions within the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) — the leading professional society in hepatology.
